What does landscape construction include?
Everything it takes to turn graded dirt into a finished property: site preparation, final grading, irrigation and backflow, planting, bark and mulch, hardscapes such as patios and retaining walls, fencing and entry gates, and water features. We build landscapes rather than maintain them, so the scope ends when the last plant is in and the irrigation is tested.
When is the best time to start a landscape project in Central Oregon?
Design, quoting, and permitting are best done over the winter so dirt work can start as soon as the ground allows in spring. Grading, irrigation, and hardscape construction run from spring through fall, and spring and early fall are the kindest planting windows in the high desert. Because our schedule fills early, contacting us a season ahead is the surest way to get the dates you want.
Do you install irrigation and backflow devices?
Yes. We design and install residential, commercial, and agricultural irrigation, from drip lines to large sprinkler zones and pump systems. As a certified backflow installer we also set and certify the backflow preventer that protects your potable water supply and file the test report with the water purveyor.
What plants actually survive in the high desert?
Plants that tolerate cold winters, hot dry summers, intense sun, and fast-draining soil. Can you landscape a brand-new home?
That is most of what we do. We work with custom and production builders to final grade the lot, install irrigation and plantings, build patios and walkways, and set fencing so the property is complete when the owners move in. Because we also do the excavation and septic work, the handoff between site work and landscaping disappears.
